Cement (Concrete) Finisher
A Cement (Concrete) Finisher is a skilled tradesperson who is responsible for pouring, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces such as floors, sidewalks, driveways, and walls. They use a variety of tools such as trowels, screeds, and power tools to ensure that the concrete is level, smooth, and free from any imperfections. Cement Finishers may also be responsible for adding decorative elements such as stamped designs or coloured stains to the concrete surface. They work closely with other members of the construction team to ensure that the project is completed on time and to the required specifications. A Cement Finisher must have a good understanding of the properties of concrete and the various techniques used to work with it, as well as a strong attention to detail and good physical stamina.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise the direct pouring of concrete, ensuring the proper placement, and inspect formwork and steel reinforcement materials.

Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.

Level the top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications.

Apply substances for curing, waterproofing, and surface restoration.

Utilize both equipment and hand/power tools to achieve desired finishes on concrete surfaces.

Conduct repairs, resurfacing, and replacement of worn or damaged sections in concrete structures.
